Aetherboard

Rules included

Aetherboard comes with the 2024 and 2014 5th Edition rules and two starter games.

5th Edition (2024)

The 2024 rules, from the System Reference Document 5.2, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. They are free to use and share.

The character builder takes you through making a character, and Level Up works out what changes when a character gains a level.

5th Edition (2014)

The 2014 rules, from the System Reference Document 5.1, under the same license. They have 12 classes with their features by level, 9 species, 319 spells, 317 creatures, the magic items and the conditions.

Two starter games

Fantasy d20 is a small d20 game that is quick to learn and easy to change. Signal Lost is a survival horror game with no twenty-sided die. A check rolls a pool of six-sided dice and counts the 5s and 6s.

Your own game system

The in-app editor has a form for each part of a game system and a live character sheet beside it, and it only saves a draft that works. Your game systems are stored with your saved games, and updates leave them alone. A game system you download can’t run code on your computer.

What isn’t included

Only freely licensed material comes with Aetherboard. Nothing from unlicensed books is imported or accepted into the shop. Aetherboard is not affiliated with or endorsed by any game’s publisher.

Both rule books are in the Library, with a page for each class, species and background.
